Jojoba is a drought resistant, evergreen desert shrub reaching up to 3m in height and reaching an age of between 100 – 200 years. Jojoba oil is cold-pressed from the olive-sized, bean-like seeds which yields roughly 50% oil. The oil is a liquid wax that is easily absorbed into the skin. It also has a long shelf life due to its molecular stability.
Jojoba oil is similar to sebum in some ways.
It is moisturising, smoothing, and anti-inflammatory,
It has anti-acne properties, and is known to regulate sebum. Jojoba oil improves skin elasticity, reducing wrinkles and striae.
